Flu shots covered by Wellness Program

Summary ... Fees for administering flu vaccines are covered under the AFTRA Health Plan’s Wellness Program.
Full story ... Fees for administering influenza vaccines for both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 flu viruses are covered under the AFTRA Health Plan’s Wellness Program.Coverage for vaccinations or any service under the Wellness Program is subject to the following:
- Annual benefit maximums of $400 per individual and $1,200 per family;
- Coinsurance of 20% of the Network charge (Network health care providers) or Non-Network scheduled allowance (Non-Network providers).
Please note that since the U.S. government is distributing the H1N1 vaccine and related supplies at no cost, health care providers should not charge for the H1N1 vaccine itself. However, health care providers may charge a fee for their professional services in administering the H1N1 vaccine.

Seasonal and H1N1 vaccines may also be available at CIGNA’s Convenience Care Centers. To find the Convenience Care Center nearest you, go to CIGNA’s online provider directory, choose “CIGNA Facility & Ancillary Directory,” enter your location and then select “Convenience Care Centers.”
