AFTRA H&R hosts Kids' Career Day

Summary ... AFTRA H&R's Kids' Career Day allowed children of employees to learn more about careers and their parents' jobs.

Full story ... On August 20, 17 students ages 6-12 toured the AFTRA Health & Retirement Funds' offices, attended presentations, played games, and participated in educational activities designed to teach them about careers and the business world.  Several employees of AFTRA H&R gave presentations about the work they do in their different departments, and the learning experience provided students with valuable knowledge about different jobs and what their parents do each day at work.

"I really had fun learning about my parent's job today," said Mike, age 10.  Bridget, age 12, added, "It gave me a better understanding of what my Mom does for a career." 

As one of the day's group activities, the students worked together with staff to create this news announcement for www.aftrahr.com. "It was a good experience to learn about creating Web sites and how to promote your business using the Web," said Clare, age 12.
